40+ Years and Counting

Vintage micarta, also known as "old stock," is a broad term applying to phenolic composites made decades ago by companies like Westinghouse, Bakelite, GE (Textolite), and International Paper to name a few. At this point, it's impossible to say the exact age or manufacturer of most of these materials – suffice it to say they were made some time before Y2K and after the signing of the Magna Carta.

How a Flea Market Find Brought an Iconic EDC Knife Back to Life

Aged to Imperfection

We love working with vintage micarta because it looks great and the aging process adds character. Dark spots and subtle color changes make each piece unique and it will continue to change with time and use.

Manufactured From Premium Materials

Bob Terzuola was one of the first knifemakers to integrate modern materials into his designs like, for example, utilizing titanium as his go-to handle material which was a 'space age' and rare commodity at the time for smaller makers. We stayed true to his pioneering spirit with the Grade 5 titanium handles and 3D milled clip but upgraded the blade to top-of-the-line MagnaCut steel.

About Limited Releases

First Come, First Served

Every once in a while we do small batches to try out new material and finish combinations. These "Limited Releases" allow us to have some fun coming up with new ideas and gives you, the customer, options beyond our standard catalog. Fair warning: once they sell out there's no telling if or when they'll be made again so grab one while you can.

Bob Terzuola

Widely known as the "Godfather" of the tactical knife, Bob Terzuola started making folders in 1984. He led the industry's acceptance of the liner lock, refining his cutting-edge designs with trial and error and elbow grease. Bob is also known for authoring "The Tactical Folding Knife" (pictured) which was first published in 2000 and has helped countless modern makers create their first folding knife.
